Men’s Basketball: ISU tops Cincinnati on the road

Five Cyclones scored in double figures as the No. 11 Iowa State men’s basketball team beat No. 22 Cincinnati, 81-79, on Tuesday night at Fifth Third Arena.

Abdel Nader sank the go-ahead three-pointer with 11 seconds left to give the Cyclones (10-1) the lead. Cincinnati had a handful of chances on the ensuing possession, but could not convert.

Georges Niang led all scorers with 24 points and added 10 rebounds. Monte Morris added 16 points, while Matt Thomas, Deonte Burton and Nader poured in 13, 12 and 11, respectively.

The Cyclones play Coppin State next on Wednesday, Dec.
