Men’s Basketball: ISU signee Jackson breaks wrist, done for year

Iowa Western Community College point guard and 2016 Iowa State men’s basketball signee Donovan Jackson suffered a broken right wrist and will miss the rest of this season, he told the Ames Tribune.

Jackson, who is left-handed, suffered the injury in the fourth-ranked Reivers’ loss Saturday to Northeast (Neb.), and is likely looking at 6-to-8 weeks for recovery, according to a source.

The 6-foot-1 guard is averaging 15.3 points, 2.9 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game while shooting 50.3 percent from the floor and 49.5 percent from 3-point range. Iowa Western is 17-2 on the season.

Jackson is part of a four-man 2016 signing class for ISU which includes fellow junior college player Emmanuel Malou along with prep players Jakolby Long and Solomon Young.
