Iowa State men’s basketball assistant Charlie Henry has resigned his position at the school to join former Cyclones coach Fred Hoiberg’s staff on the Chicago Bulls, a source tells the Ames Tribune.
Henry’s move continues a quick rise in the profession after he came to ISU as a graduate assistant in 2012, was promoted to director of player development in 2013 and then moved up to full-time assistant in 2014.
“I’ve really developed a comfort level with Charlie over the last couple years working with him from the minute he got on campus as our grad assistant,” Hoiberg said last June when Henry was promoted.
