Men’s Basketball: Cyclones top No. 4 Kansas

Iowa State men’s basketball turned it on late and ran away from Kansas to claim an 85-72 victory Monday night at Hilton Coliseum.

The 14th-ranked Cyclones (16-4, 5-3 Big 12) used an 11-0 run just past the midway point of the second half to turn a deficit into a nine-point advantage that they would never give back to the fourth-ranked Jayhawks.

Monte Morris had 21 points, nine assists and four rebounds while Georges Niang had 19 points and six boards. ISU shot 50.8 percent from the floor.

ISU travels to play No. 5 Texas A&M on Saturday as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge.
