SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Steve Prohm era of Iowa State men’s basketball is off to a 1-0 start.
The seventh-ranked Cyclones fought off a pesky Colorado team, 68-62, on Friday evening at the Sanford Pentagon arena to get their new coach a win in his official debut.
It wasn’t always pretty as the Cyclones struggled on both ends of the floor at times and didn’t look like the free-wheeling, offensive machine they often have been, but it was enough to keep the Buffaloes (0-1) at bay.
Preseason All-American Georges Niang led the way offsneively with 17 points while Monte Morris added 12 and four assists.
