Men’s Basketball: Cyclones cruise late to 84-64 victory

The Iowa State men’s basketball team survived two small scares Tuesday night.

The first came when Georges Niang briefly left the game with an injury only to return a few minutes later. The second came as North Dakota State refused to surrender until late in an 84-64 win for the fifth-ranked Cyclones at Hilton Coliseum.

Niang missed but a few minutes with what was diagnosed as a right thigh contusion, but the fear was thick in Hilton Coliseum until his return. He finished with 15 points on 6 of 12 shooting to go along with six rebounds.
