Men’s Basketball: Cyclones cruise in home opener

Iowa State rolled to an easy victory Monday in its home opener with a 106-64 beatdown of Chicago State at Hilton Coliseum.

The seventh-ranked Cyclones (2-0) shot 59.4 percent from the field and had six players score in double figures while holding the Cougars to 30.7 percent shooting.

Jameel McKay scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while Abdel Nader added 17 points and nine rebounds. Naz Mitrou-Long and Monte Morris both scored 14 points while Georges Niang added 11. Both Niang and Morris finished with eight assists.

Up next for the Cyclones is a home tilt against Chattanooga on Nov.
