Iowa State senior Deonte Burton has submitted paperwork to withdraw his name from the NBA Draft pool, a school spokesperson told the Ames Tribune.
Burton briefly took advantage of new NCAA legislation that allows underclassmen to declare for the draft without hiring an agent and still retain their eligibility should they decide to return before May 25. The 6-foot-4 forward did not receive an invite to next week’s NBA Draft Combine. Graduating All-American Georges Niang was the only Cyclone to be invited.
Burton averaged 9.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game last season after he became eligible in December following a transfer from Marquette.
