Men’s Basketball: Breaking down ISU’s defensive breakdowns

AUSTIN, Texas — Steve Prohm walked alone through the halls of the Frank Erwin Center on Tuesday night, just moments after answer questions about why the top-10 team he inherited was seemingly floundering and the defense he vowed to improve appeared to be regressing.

It was a short trip from press conference to locker room, but undoubtedly a lonely one. A man and his thoughts amid a disappointment in the highest-profile and highest-stakes moments of his career.

ISU’s defense wasn’t likely far from his mind following the 94-91 overtime loss to Texas. His Cyclones can score, certainly, but it has been their inability to consistently stop anyone else from making buckets that has bogged down the start of Prohm’s tenure at ISU.
