What is up, dude? How are you doing? Those eight words were the start of Iowa State’s recruitment of quarterback Jacob Park.
When Cyclone tight end coach/recruiting coordinator Alex Golesh made the call, he didn’t know Park would be the biggest surprise in two months full of recruiting surprises.
He just wanted to stand out because being like all of the other coaches pursing Park wouldn’t help ISU land the former Georgia signal caller.
“When you cold call somebody like that, you better be creative in how you start it,” Golesh said, “especially someone that is getting phone calls from everywhere in the country.
