She is one of four students that holds up the Big Georges cutout behind the east basket at Hilton Coliseum.
The No. 21 Iowa State men’s basketball 58-50 win over Oklahoma State on Monday wasn’t just Georges Niang’s farewell home contest. It was the end of an era, one started by former coach Fred Hoiberg with Niang as the main star.
And Big Georges as his not-so-small sidekick.
“I’ll look around every now and then and see everyone looking at Big Georges and notice the smile on their faces,” Thiesse said.
