Brett Kivell drove his truck and trailer past Jack Trice Stadium before the sun came up on Friday. As he prepared to hunker down for a weekend of tailgating for the Iowa State football opener the new enclosed stadium came into view.
Kivell, hours later, still smiled when thinking about the moment.
“There is a tendency to think that we didn’t have a complete or a Division I feeling of a stadium,” Kivell said. “I don’t think that was fair, but at the same time this is going to take care of that.”
Thoughts of inferiority disappeared when the Iowa State faithful set eyes on the renovated stadium.
