La Gesse Column: Beating Kansas could give ISU just what it needs

Square off with a guy 10 times in four years and a relationship develops. For Georges Niang, that means one thing. The opportunity to talk a little trash.

So as he prepares for his 11th battle with Kansas’ Perry Ellis this afternoon (3 p.m., ESPN) he’s on a quest – for future bragging rights.

“Any time later in life, you can look back and tell someone you kicked their butt in their house, that is something to look forward too,” Niang said.

A win at Allen Fieldhouse would give Niang a lifetime of material to use, but it could mean more to him in the next month.
