JUCO G Jordan Ashton Commits to Iowa State

Guard Jordan Ashton, of Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has committed to Iowa State. Rob Gray of Yardbarker’s Cyclone Fanatic reported the story.

Standing 6’4″ and hailing from Mount Pleasant, Ashton averaged 16.4 points per game last season. He will be a preferred walk-on with the Cyclones next season, and also drew interest from Southern Illinois via a scholarship offer.

Just how much playing time he’ll get remains to be seen, but Ashton should be a good depth option off the bench as Naz Long and Hallice Cook recover from injuries.

Iowa State went 25-9 (12-6 Big 12) last season and took home its second consecutive Big 12 Conference Championship before losing a heartbreaker to UAB in the NCAA Tournament’s Round of 64.
