Though the rivalry between the Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones will always exist, this is something that both groups of fans can enjoy.
Yesterday, Cyclones guard Monte Morris got to spend time with Hawkeyes all-time leading scorer Roy Marble, who is currently suffering from Stage 4 cancer. Morris posted pictures he took with Marble on his Instagram, along with some inspirational words.
In four years with the Hawkeyes, Marble averaged 15.8 points per game. He was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in 1989, but never made much of an impact on the professional level.
Just the same, the fact that he and Morris got to spend some time together is incredibly touching, and it’s obvious that both enjoyed each other’s company.
