Former ISU track star Rio bound
Hillary Bor, a former Iowa State track athlete, qualified for the U.S. Olympic Team on Friday night by qualifying for the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase in Eugene, Oregon.
Bor finished second at the U.S. Olympic Trials in the event with a time of eight minutes, 24.10 seconds, becoming the first ISU representative ever to make an Olympic team in the steeplechase. Bor needed to finish third to make the team.
The Eldoret, Kenya native was a four-time All-American in the 3,000-meter steeplechase during his Cyclone career.
