Cyclones sixth at Midlands Championships
The Iowa State wrestling team finished sixth at the 2015 Ken Kraft Midlands Championships, which took place Dec. 29-30.
The Cyclones scored 64 team points with four wrestlers finishing among the top eight in their respective weight classes. Iowa won the tournament with 152 points.
Senior Tanner Weatherman was the lone ISU wrestler to reach the finals. Weatherman finished second at 165 pounds. He was pinned by Purdue’s Chad Welch in the second period of their finals bout.
Earl Hall, Lelund Weatherspoon and Gabe Moreno were ISU’s other placewinners.
