The Cyclones' distance medley team consisting of Edward Kemboi, Brandon Barnes, Patrick Peterson and Brian Biekert had a strong start but was hampered by a collision that happened on the handoff between the second and third leg.
The team ended in sixth place with after a quick turnaround by Peterson and finished with a time of 9:47.84.
Iowa State's sprint medley didn't have as much luck, and finished 15th out of 19 teams that competed. It set a time of 3:30.17 in its first competition this season.
It seemed like the cold and rainy day affected Cameron Ostrowski's day after he failed to clear 6 feet, 9 3/4 inches, which is more than an inch shorter than his season's best performance at the Tiger Track Classic.
