Iowa State Cyclones defensive lineman Mitchell Meyers was diagnosed with Hodgkins’ lymphoma in February, but is on the road to recovery. Speaking to Suzanne Halliburton of the Austin American-Statesman, head coach Paul Rhoads revealed that Meyers will undergo his final round of chemotherapy on Friday.
“I want to take this opportunity to talk about a young man by the name of Mitchell Meyers,” Rhoads said. Mitchell was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma this past January. … During that time, this entire summer, he hasn’t missed a workout with our football team and with his teammates, going through six months of chemotherapy.
