Iowa State went down to Stillwater to take on Oklahoma State in their Big 12 opener, and defeated the Pokes 69-63 to improve to 11-2 on the season and 1-0 in the Big 12 play.
Iowa State jumped out to as much as a 12 point lead in the first half but Oklahoma State would not go away. Going on a run of their own after the Cyclone run, the Cowboys cut the Iowa State lead down to 4. The Cyclones would answer and expand the lead to 8, but would fall asleep on the defensive end of the floor coupled with poor shot selection gave Oklahoma State a 36-35 lead at the break.
