Iowa State Cyclones running back Martinez Syria has been dismissed from the team. Kevin McGuire of NBC Sports’ College Football Talk reported the story.
According to Cyclones head coach Paul Rhoads, Syria was dismissed due to a violation of team rules. The former three-star recruit out of Houston’s Nimitz High School appeared in five games last year and rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown, and his dismissal further muddies an Iowa State running game that needs a lot of help as last year’s leading rusher Aaron Wimberly graduated and DeVondrick Nealy was also kicked off the team.
