Fred Hoiberg has many ties to the Bulls organization, and ISU Athletic Director Jamie Pollard said it is Hoiberg's dream to one day coach in the NBA.
Hoiberg played four seasons with the Bulls from 1999-2003. Forman was an assistant coach at Iowa State during Hoiberg's ISU playing career.
While Hoiberg doesn't have any NBA coaching experience he was an executive for the Minnesota Timberwolves. David Kahn, former president of basketball operations at the Timberwolves, said, "[Hoiberg was] on track to become president of an NBA team."
Adrian Wojnarowski, of Yahoo Sports, reported, "Fred Hoiberg is really the only candidate for this job from the Bulls perspective.
