When handing out playbooks, Iowa State assistant Jim Hofher wishes there was a complimentary product he could also provide.
Something like Rosetta Stone, he jokes, so all of his quarterbacks could quickly pick up the new language and terminology that comes with a new coaching staff.
Quarterback Joel Lanning doesn’t need it. He’s spent enough time in various offenses. He’s learned his own shortcuts.
“It’s similar to what I ran when I was a true freshman here,” Lanning said, “kind of the same terminology.
