Three players stood out to Iowa State wide receiver coach Bryan Gasser during spring practice and possibly the most surprising didn’t come to Ames to play on the perimeter.
Gasser thought redshirt sophomore Darius Lee-Campbell, a converted quarterback, made the most growth.
“Maybe was the surprise out of all the receivers this spring was Darius Lee-Campbell,” Gasser told the Ames Tribune on Tuesday. “Darius, unfortunately, rolled his ankle towards the end of spring so you didn’t see him in the spring game, but Darius had a really productive spring and is a strong target, a guy that converted over.
