Offensive guard Daniel Burton doesn’t plan on returning to the Iowa State football team for 2016, sources have told the Ames Tribune.
But that doesn’t mean his playing days are over.
Other programs have reached out to Burton about transferring for his final season and he hasn’t made a decision about joining another program, sources said. Because Burton would hold an undergraduate degree by the end of his fourth season as a college athlete he would be allowed to transfer and gain immediate eligibility as a fifth-year transfer, per NCAA rules.
Injuries were a problem for Burton over the last two season.
