Did Iowa State want kicker Cole Netten’s potential game winning field goal against Toledo to be from left? Centered? Over on the right hash?
It didn’t matter, not at least to coach Paul Rhoads.
Rhoads gave the impression that location of the kick in the final seconds of regulation wasn’t a factor in why Netten missed it from the left hash.
“He was lined up in a position to make the kick,” said Rhoads on the Big 12 teleconference on Monday morning.
The 32-yard field goal attempt gave ISU a chance to rally from a 10-point fourth quarter deficit and head into its bye week 2-1 after non-conference play.
