Another game, another officiating controversy for the Iowa State football team.
Late in the first quarter, quarterback Joel Lanning threw low just inside the end zone to Trever Ryen, who tumbled to the ground in an attempt to make the catch.
It was initially ruled a touchdown by the officials on the field, but was overturned upon video review.
“The end zone view, which came very late, shows the view of the point of the ball touching the ground and moving, which means that it was incomplete,” Phil Laurie, Big 12 Conference officials’ observer who was seated in the replay booth, said to a pool reporter.
