Iowa State’s hopes of a repeat of 2011 faded when Oklahoma State quarterback J.W. Walsh found running back Jeff Carr for a 7-yard fourth quarter touchdown.
The score erased what was once a 17-point Cyclone first half lead and put the finishing touches on a 35-31 comeback win for the fifth-ranked Cowboys in Jack Trice Stadium.
It looked for most of the game that the ISU faithful would be able to celebrate like they did four years ago when topping No. 2 Oklahoma State 37-31 in double overtime.
ISU jumped out to a 24-7 first-half lead as quarterback Joel Lanning used his legs and arm to get past the Oklahoma State defense.
