Tom Manning knows what Iowa State has in running back Mike Warren. He met him while on the recruiting trail at Toledo.
“He’s a special kid,” Manning said.
So don’t be surprised if Manning, the new ISU offensive coordinator, spends his first year in Jack Trice Stadium calling Warren’s number on a lot of rushing plays.
“Having the ability to run the football is a critical piece,” Manning said. “Football is still about toughness. It’s about blocking and tackling, whatever your style may be.”
The Ames Tribune first reported Manning as the new offensive coordinator on Tuesday morning.
