Mitchell Meyers’ birthday was Wednesday. His birthday gift is a trip to the Iowa State game at No. 2 Baylor on Saturday.
Iowa State football coach Paul Rhoads announced that Meyers, a defensive tackle battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma, will cheer on the Cyclones in person.
“He’s really excited to join us in Waco,” Rhoads said.
Meyers will accompanied by his father and brother. He attended the season opener against Northern Iowa.
“He is really anxious to be around his teammates,” Rhoads said.
Meyers was diagnosed in February. He went through chemotherapy in Ames throughout the summer.
