Iowa State offensive coordinator Tom Manning was named the 2015 FootballScoop.com offensive line coach of the year on Thursday. Manning received the honor for his work as the Toledo offensive line coach this past season.
Toledo broke in an entirely new starting offensive line in 2015. The Rockets were second nationally in sacks allowed, giving up only four. They also led the MAC in rushing, averaging 208.0 rushing yards per game.
“You are never sure what a young man can do until they are put in that situation and given that opportunity,” Manning told the Ames Tribune about the Toledo offensive line in mid-December.
