Football: ISU reportedly negotiating with Toledo’s Campbell

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - It appears that Iowa State is on the verge of landing its next football coach.

The Cyclones will spend the next 48 hours negotiating with Toledo head coach Matt Campbell to be the head coach, Sports Illustrated reported on Saturday afternoon.

The news came just as Paul Rhoads wrapped up his final game as the ISU head coach, a 30-6 loss to West Virginia.

Campbell took over at Toledo for the 2011 Military Bowl, a 42-41 victory, after Tim Beckman left for Illinois. Campbell is 35-15 in the last four-plus seasons with Toledo.
