The 20 full-time assistant coaches and staffers that will work under Iowa State football coach Matt Campbell will make $3.23 million in 2016. The Ames Tribune obtained the staff contracts in a Freedom of Information Act request.
The nine assistant coaches will receive a combined $2.31 million for this season. Defensive coordinator Jon Heacock is the highest paid assistant and will make $454,000. Heacock had the option of coaching at both ISU and Toledo for next season.
Offensive coordinator Tom Manning will earn $350,000. Running backs coach/assistant head coach Louis Ayeni will make $300,000. Quarterback coach/pass game coordinator Jim Hofher will earn $235,000.
