The biggest impact Kamari Cotton-Moya makes for the Iowa State defense may come when he’s standing still.
As a safety, Cotton-Moya is in a unique position. He’s furthest from the ball. The entire defense and offense in front of him. It lets him see alignments, assuring everyone lines up correctly and makes any necessary adjustments.
It’s in that time Cotton-Moya may be at his most valuable.
“He is bringing a calmness and a poise to what we are doing and allows everyone to play fast,” defensive backs coach Maurice Linguist said.
Cotton-Moya’s stoic pre-snap demeanor could be just what the Cyclones need to create post-snap chaos.
