The jockeying for the Iowa State football opening is officially underway.
Georgia Southern coach Willie Fritz is interested in the Cyclone job, according to a CBSports.com report. The report stated it didn’t know if ISU would be interested in Fritz.
Fritz runs the triple-option and has made turned the Eagles into an instant winner in the FBS ranks as it’s transitioned from being an FCS program. Fritz is 16-6 in two seasons. He led Georgia Southern to a Sun Belt title last season, but the Eagles couldn’t play in a bowl game because of the rules accompanying the move into the FCS.
