Inside the newly-renovated and sold-out Jack Trice Stadium, the Iowa State defense and special teams made big plays that helped pave the way for a 31-7 win over Northern Iowa on Saturday night.
The Panthers had a 7-0 lead and were in ISU territory early in the second quarter when quarterback Aaron Bailey was intercepted by Dale Pierson, who returned the pick 24 yards to the UNI 38-yard line. ISU responded five plays later when Joshua Thomas found the end zone from a yard out to tie the game.
From there, special teams set the Cyclones up for success.
