Demond Tucker isn’t large for a defensive lineman, but he is being asked to carry a heavy load.
Iowa State is expecting Tucker, the 6-foot, 296-pound junior-college transfer, to make a quick impact on the Cyclones’ defensive front.
“Big one,” ISU defensive tackles coach Shane Burnham said during spring practice. “We haven’t had that much play at that position the last two years, nose or tackle. If you are going to be good in any league, it starts inside out on defense, and offense, too.”
Defensive line is the position group in which the Cyclones need to see the most improvement in 2015, especially at defensive tackle.
