Football: Brown to leave ISU

Iowa State running back Tyler Brown is leaving the football program, but is expected to stay in school this semester, according to an ISU official.

Brown, a sophomore, began last season as the starting running back, but fell down the depth chart as Mike Warren asserted himself as one of the top rushers in the Big 12. Brown started the first two games before an injury gave Warren the opportunity to start at Toledo on Sept. 19. Warren would run away with the bulk of the carries, setting a freshman program record with 1,366 rushing yards. By the end of the season Brown sat behind freshman Joshua Thomas and Warren on the depth chart.
