Cyclones Upend Cowgirls in Defensive Battle

Despite trouble shooting and rebounding the basketball all game, the Iowa State women gutted out a 49-42 victory over the Oklahoma State Cowgirls on Saturday afternoon at Hilton Coliseum. Now 10-3 on the season and 2-0 in the Big 12, the adversity Iowa State faced in November seems like a distant memory. Seanna Johnson was spectacular once again for the Cyclones; the junior guard finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Bridget Carleton finished with 11 points and seven rebounds.

The Cyclones ended the game just 23% from the field, but Iowa State was able to make 22 free throws to stick with the Cowgirls.
