Iowa State has had their way with the Big 12 with the exception being Texas, but to continue that, they’d have to secure the regular-season sweep of the 9th ranked Baylor Bears. Iowa State started hot, hitting 3 of their first 5 triples, and it looked like another hot shooting night would have to lead the way, as the Cyclones got nothing down low, including being thoroughly outrebounded the entire game.
It didn’t start great for the home team, as Baylor jumped out early, taking an 8-2 lead, but, as mentioned, the hot shooting for the Cyclones prevailed early as they capped off a 12-1 scoring run to take a 14-9 lead off a pair of Ashley Joens free throws just under the 5:00 mark in the first quarter.
