Trevone Boykin left early in the first half after suffering a right ankle injury and left the quarterbacking duties to backup, Bram Kohlhausen. The senior from Houston, Texas, finished 13 of 19 for 112 yards, 0 touchdowns and 1 interception as the Jayhawks kept things interesting against a slumping TCU team.
The injury to Boykin couldn't have come at a worse time for the Horned Frogs, whose top wide receiver, Josh Doctson, is also nursing a left arm and wrist injury. TCU's two remaining games are at Oklahoma and home against Baylor.
Texas showed it has some fight left in it in Morgantown, overcoming the scoring woes that have helped keep them winless in true road games this season.
