It was Jarrod Uthoff’s last chance to get a win at Hilton Coliseum. The Monday before the game, current NBA player Georges Niang envisioned Uthoff coming out strong. What he didn’t know is that it was going to be an absolute onslaught from the 6’9” woodchuck out of Cedar Rapids.
Uthoff came out firing, making 11-13 shots and dropping 30 points in the first half to help propel the Hawkeyes to a 20 point lead at one point during the game. Niang even remembers looking to Steve Prohm and asking “What am I supposed to do?” Pretty much nothing Georges, pretty much nothing.
