Before the 2017-2018 basketball season began, it was filled with a ton of uncertainty. The Cyclones opened the season with a loss at Missouri, which was already a tall order to begin with. The opener at Hilton Coliseum against UW-Milwaukee was almost a certain win on paper, but then it wasn’t.
Iowa State came out in the first half guns-a-blazing, shooting over 50% from the field. Most would think would be enough to get well ahead, but it wasn’t The Panthers shot 54% and took a 39-32 lead into the half.
Most fans thought it was a fluke, it wasn’t.
