In December 2015, the #4 ranked Cyclones overcame a 62-42 deficit to beat the dreaded Team out East thanks to a Monté Morris jumper with 9 seconds to play. This emotionally charged win caused students to pour from their respective ends of the court onto the court.
Caught up in all of this mayhem was Des Moines Register reporter Randy Peterson who locked legs with someone next to him and fell onto Hilton’s floor with a thud sound almost as large as Jarrod Uthoff’s brick at the end of regulation.
As some fans in the state might attest, Randy was “trampled”.
