IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Former University of Iowa national champion Bill Zadick has been named as the next National Freestyle Coach for USA Wrestling, the national governing body for the sport in the United States.
Zadick is currently an Assistant National Freestyle Coach with USA Wrestling. He will assume head coaching duties from Bruce Burnett following the 2016 Olympi Games in Rio de Janiero.
Zadick was a two-time All-American for the Hawkeyes from 1993-96. He placed fifth at the national tournament in 1995 before winning NCAA and Big Ten titles in 1996.
Zadick will assume the duties after the current National Freestyle Coach Bruce Burnett completes his tenure after the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.
