Eight of Sunday’s 10 bouts pitted one ranked wrestler against another, and Iowa came out on top of seven.

Second-ranked Thomas Gilman opened the dual with an 11-4 win over No. 9 Tim Lambert at 125, and seventh-ranked Sam Stoll closed the dual with a 6-2 win against No. 18 Colin Jensen at 285.

Iowa’s five other wins were decided by two points or less.

“We want to win every match and we want it to be lopsided,” said UI head coach Tom Brands. “We left a lot of points out here, but they’re probably thinking the same thing.
