The day is finally here: the NCAA Women’s Tournament kicks off for the Iowa Hawkeyes as they face the Murray State Racers in Norman, OK. The Hawkeyes will certainly have a challenge ahead of them as outlined in our preview, but Iowa’s size advantage up and down the roster should be able to make a big difference against a much smaller Racers squad.
One unforeseen challenge: Jan Jensen and squad will be without freshman forward Teagan Mallegni, who did not make the trip to Norman due to being in the concussion protocol. It’s certainly disappointing for the freshman, but hopefully should not have a game-altering impact.
