IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa women’s tennis team finished up day one at the Purdue Invitational on Friday.
Each of Iowa's two doubles earned a win on opening day. Zoe Douglas and Natalie Looney won 6-3 over Shteyn and Shapovalova of Miami University, and Adorabol Huckleby and Aimee Tarun won 6-4 over Mountford and Roberts of Notre Dame.
“Big improvements today from last weekend in both singles and doubles,” said UI head coach Katie Dougherty. “Play was moved indoors all day due to wind and these four did a great job being prepared after long delays.
