GREENVILLE, South Carolina -- University of Iowa sophomore Zoe Douglas won her 2015 singles debut in a third-set tiebreak at the Furman Fall Classic on Saturday.
Douglas dropped the first set, 6-1, before forcing a tiebreak with a 6-3 win in set two. She won the tiebreak 1-0 (5) against Alabama’s Andi Daniell to advance to the Flight 2 semifinals, where she dropped a three-set tiebreak to Clemson’s Theresa Piontek, 7-6, 5-7, 1-0 (4).
"I'm happy with how I played today,” said Douglas. “I had great support from my teammates and played some of my best tennis.
