IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa women’s swimming and diving team posted three event wins Thursday night at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center Natatorium to take a 44-9 lead over Michigan State.
“Tonight was great, we had a chance to see everyone swim,” said UI head coach Marc Long. “It’s fun and a precursor for tomorrow, so we took care of ourselves tonight and got ready for a great day of racing tomorrow.”
Iowa opened the meet claiming first and second in the 200-freestyle relay. The quartet of freshmen Kelly McNamara and Katie Wells, junior Emma Sougstad, and senior Olivia Kabacinski won the race, touching in 1:34.
